Maintenance

Read through the sections below to learn how to best take care of your conversion kit.

General Information

To ensure fixings and fixtures stay in place during transit, we use high quality stainless steel nylon locking nuts. These locking nuts help prevent nuts and bolts from loosening over time, however, it’s good practice to check all fixtures periodically. If you do find a loose fixing, we recommend tightening it as soon as possible.

If you haven’t got the tools for this, we sell a Maintenance Kit in our store which has everything you need to assemble, remove and maintain your conversion kit. We pride ourselves on quality, and our selected maintenance kit is no different, although more economic options can be found online.

Drawer Runner Information

We recommend greasing the drawer and bed runner bearings every 6 months to achieve the best longterm performance. Firstly, remove any debris and apply a thin coat of thick multi-purpose grease using a narrow brush, wiping off excess as necessary.

Plywood Information

In high humidity environments the exposed plywood edges may begin to develop surface mould if left unprotected. Therefore, we recommend that users apply two coats of water-based varnish to the exposed and unprotected outer edges of ply. The black poly-resin laminate layers do not require any further protection.
